It was the fall of 2019 when Laura and Donnie met the "old-fashioned way," at work. Laura spotted Donnie rushing to a meeting in a burgundy shirt and thought, "Ooh, he is cute." Donnie caught a glimpse of Laura at her desk and thought, "I have to get to know her."
As fate would have it, they had one project together, and that was enough to get them talking. Although Laura spent those first few weeks playing it cool - or, as they both say it now, blowing him off - in reality, she was just nervous because she knew he was someone special.
Everything changed at the office holiday party. Laura brought the best wing-woman, Molli, as her +1. As soon as they got to the party Laura saw Donnie and told Molli, "that is the guy I was telling you about!" They all started talking and did not leave each other's side for the rest of the night.
The following day, Donnie sent the most "Donnie" text: "Want to eat some unhealthy food with me on Tuesday?" It was an easy yes. Their first date in Venice Beach was straight out of a rom-com. That night, everything felt easy, comfortable, and right.
Since then, they have built a life together through the highs and lows. They made Covid fun (thanks to tacos, movie marathons, and more tacos), Donnie somehow got Laura into golf, they have traveled to many places (highlight being Japan), and they have been enjoying the day-to-day with their two kitties.
Donnie asked Laura to marry him in August 2025, and it was another very easy yes. They are so excited to start this next chapter of their lives surrounded by their closest family and friends. After their wedding, they will keep the celebrations going with a wedding tour so that they can make sure to celebrate with everyone they love most.
